Research on aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) and intracranial aneurysms

The "Swiss SOS" is an interdisciplinary group that concentrates on research on aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) and intracranial aneurysms in general.

This multicenter cohort database involving 8 Swiss accredited neurovascular centers contains core data (Common Data Elements) collected in a standardized manner. Assessment, treatment, and follow-up are performed at each center’s discretion, according to center-specific standard operating procedures for patients with aSAH. A set of core variables of interest was predefined and extracted from the hospitals’ charts by the local teams, anonymized, and pooled in a secured, web-based registry (secuTrial, InterActive Systems GmbH).

New research Proposals

New research proposals are welcome and will be reviewed by the Scientific Review Panel (SRP). Proposals need to be summarized using the following structure:

Requests for “Recollection of Data” (e.g. variables that are not part of the 2009-2014 dataset or part of the prospective collection from 2015 to 2022) need to be stated clearly and will be considered by the Scientific Review Panel (SRP) only if a retrospective recollection is feasible and all participating centers (PI’s) are able to provide the effort. Such projects might be rejected if the feasibility of the recollection cannot be granted by the group.
